The government of Angola and Sonangol consider the Angola LNG Project to be of national importance and the cornerstone of its plans to develop the country's natural gas resources and reduce gas flaring.
By commercializing natural gas resources and facilitating new oil and gas development, the Angola LNG Project is expected to provide critical revenue to Angola, serve as a catalyst for the country's reconstruction and growth, and establish the foundation for development of a domestic gas business.
The LNG Project will contribute to the growth, development, and environmental safety of the local community of Soyo by:
- Creating jobs
- Providing training
- Developing infrastructure
- Providing gas for domestic industrial use
- Reducing CO2 emissions in the region
- Using local services and business (whenever possible)
