Angola LNG Provides Assistance to Stricken Communities in Soyo
August’07 - Angola LNG donated 780 roofing sheets to stricken communities in Soyo town, affected by torrential rains of the last rainy season. Angola has a tropical climate largely affected by seasonal movements of the rain-bearing intertropical convergence zone, the northward flow of the cold Benguela Current, and altitude. Soyo is located in the north where rainfalls are abundant.
Angola LNG assistance was primarily directed to the most affected families in 4 neighborhoods of the Soyo municipality: 1° de Maio, Nkunguyenguele, Kindombele and Kintambi.
About 47 families received 15 sheets each. The distribution was carried out by the Municipal Representative of MINARS (Ministry of Assistance and Social Reinsertion) in the presence of an Angola LNG Representative- Mr. André Vemba.
About 788 families were affected by torrential rains in the Soyo area and the local government through MINARS has mobilized its Fund for Social Support to assist the affected communities. Angola LNG modest contribution, in the resolution of the local communities needs, is a symbol of a solidarity and public-private partnership initiative to be developed with the expansion of the company activities in Soyo.

FILDA - The Luanda International Trade Fair
The Luanda International Trade Fair is the most important annual trade event on the Angola business market. This event, occurring in Luanda - the capital of the country- every year in July, has been dubbed "Door to Africa and Window to the World", implying that, through it, entrepreneurs have access to other countries on the continent while at the same time allowing Africans, and Angolans in particular, to benefit from the experience and technology of more advanced economies worldwide.
The 2007 edition (the 24th of the series) was held from 10 thru 15 July under the motto “IT BETS IN A MODERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM AS HANDSPIKE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT”. Over 609 companies (of which 217 Angolan) displayed in this event. On opening day, Deputy Prime-Minister, Dr. Aguinaldo Jaime, representing the President of the Republic, visited the Angola LNG booth fitted between Sonangol and Chevron’s booths in the Oil & Gas Industry pavilion. On the “Petroleum Day”, the Minister of Petroleum, Mr. Desidério Costa, accompanied by Sonangol’s dignitaries also visited our booth. All continues to support the Project and wants to see its implementation.
In the middle of the booth, the Angola LNG model was an attraction to many of the people who visited the pavilion among Government entities willing to learn more about the progress of this mega project; business people aiming to do business with the new company and young people willing to apply for jobs with Angola LNG Ltd.
Our first group of Trainees paid a visit to the stand and they enjoyed a lot.
Brochures and other literature, as well as, give aways were handed out.
